Mohan Babu-Chiranjeevi fans lock horns
The vexed flare-up of emotions between the fans of Mohan Babu-Chiranjeevi has once again surged ahead on Monday night. A newly launched TV channel NTV, vying for a place in the field, has sensationalized a flimsy issue last night, dragging into the rut the names of Mohan Babu and Chiranjeevi. According to information, some drivers associated with the film industry came to a take-home restaurant located between the Plots of Allu Arvadin and Mohan Babu. At the same time, some dancers and persons of Allu Arjun’s side ordered parcel of biryani and some delicious non-veg dishes. The rift arose. Who should get it first? In the melee, a person belonging to Allu Arjun’s side fell down into the mud-covered road. Later, the other group gathered the mass and is said to have attacked the actor’s supporters. In view of the location and the presence of Mohan Babu’s men (as they passed though the lane to have dinner at a nearby hotel) made NTV construe that a rift had occurred between Mohan Babu and Chiranjeevi group.
Following the news scroll, supporters of Chiranjeevi were said to have lifted away a print of Yamadonga from the theatre screening at Amalapuram (East Godavari district), last night. Unconfirmed reports said the print was thrown into a pond. As retaliation, Mohan Babu’s supporters have resorted to burning the effigies of Chiranjeevi and Allu Arjun in Tirupati and Anantapur. The Amalapuram incident might prompt the fans of NTR also to join the issue.
The tug of war between the fans of Mohan Babu and Chiranjeevi is still fresh in the minds of the people. That time, it was Mohan Babu who came out first with a statement appealing for calm. But, now, no star has come forward with any appeal. There is a feel among the industry that this simple outbreak of emotions between the two groups for no direct involvement of their stars into the issue might result in protests once again. The outcome of Telugu Cinema Vajrotsavams (TCV) witnessed bitter burning and counters burning of effigies of Mohan Babu and Chiranjeevi by their respective fans.
