Parugu Movie Review
Cast: Allu Arjun, Prakash Raj, Sheela, Jayasudha (guest role), Poonam Bajwa (guest role), Sunil and many others.
Banner: Sri Venkateswara Creations
Music: Mani Sharma
Producer: Raju
Story, Screenplay & Direction: Bhaskar
Tagline: Parugu - run away as fast as possible
Strengths: Allu Arjun and Prakash Raj
Weaknesses: Weak story and dragging screenplay
Must see scenes:
1. All the comedy scenes
2. Prakash Raj drunken scene with Allu Arjun expressing his agony for his eloped daughter
Analysis: Parugu movie is the second movie for Bhaskar after Bommarillu and as the trend follows it will not be a phenomenol hit (second movie of most of the recent directors is not a hit). It is all about how a father feels when his daughter elopes with her lover. Bhaskar showed the father’s love from son’s point of view in Bommarillu where as he showed father’s love from the father’s point of view in Parugu.
Bhaskar wanted to prove that he is not wrong in both the movies. One can find the complete reverse side of Bommariilu movie. I agree that Parugu is a complete different story but it lags the effective on-screen discription ie screenplay. The movie dragged a lot in both first half as well as the second half.
Note: After seeing Parugu movie, one can easily relate it to the recent mis-hap which shook entire Chiranjeevi family. This obvious relation will be because it has Allu Arjun in it who comes from the same family. Seeing this movie, one will surely feel the pain and agony what Chiranjeevi felt when his daughter went away. The audience will surely sympathasize Chiranjeevi after watching Parugu movie. (is this one kind of political entry stunt by Chiranjeevi ???? Who Knows….)
Performances: Allu Arjun is as usual cool in this movie too. His action and his dance sequences doesn’t show much difference from his earlier movies like Happy, Arya and Bunny.
Heroine Sheela is sweet and beautiful as a village girl. Poonam Bajwa who did a guest performance in Parugu has nothing to mention about. Jayasudha as Allu Arjun’s mother has no role to perform.
Special mention about Prakash Raj should be done here. He, as an agonizing father gave splendid performance. He stole the entire show in the movie.
Sunil and his friends are good and gave rib-tickling comedy with proper timing and proper punch dialogues.
Music by Mani Sharma is average. Even the picturization of these songs couldn’t add much to the music.
Story by Bhaskar is different and good. It highlighted the recent bad incident which took place in Megastar family. But this will not help much to the success of the movie because the screen play is not upto the mark. The entire movie dragged. The viewer gets bored after certain point of time.
Direction, again by Bhaskar is good but is not highlighted because of the bad screenplay.
Story: Krishna (Allu Arjun) is a happy go lucky guy who gets trapped in the family of Prakash Raj who is searching for the latter’s eloped first daughter Subba Lakshmi (Poonam Bajwa). In the mean time Krishna falls in love with Prakash Raj second daughter Meena (Sheela) and plans to elope with her. After seeing the agony and pain of an eloped daughter’s father, Allu Arjun decides to leave Meena. What happens next should be seen on big screen only.

Megastar Chiranjeevi and his family were in Chennai on 29th April to attend the marriage of Lakshmi Anandi with Gautham at Valliammai Marriage hall, Chennai.
Lakshmi Anandi is the grand daughter of late Sri LV Prasad.
Megastar Chiranjeevi who came with his wife stayed till the rituals were done and posed with family members.

Dr Ramanaidu, MS Raju was among the bigwigs from Tollywood who attended this grand marriage.
Sunil is arguably one of the best loved and popular comedians in the industry. He rose from playing bit roles mimicking big actors. He is now next only to Brahmanandam in terms of popularity and earnings.
It is no exaggeration to say that Sunil’s presence has become a must in all films. Even if it is for a short duration, producers and directors wish to sign him up at any cost. Sunil is a die hard fan of megastar Chiranjeevi. He makes no secret of his loyalty.
Sunil was overheard recently saying that he is eagerly waiting like everyone else for Chiranjeevi to launch his political party. The moment he announces it, Sunil will be one of the first to join it. Many comedians as well as actors are also eagerly waiting to join Chiranjeevi’s party as and when he announces it.
Megastar Chiranjeevi is one man who has been keeping the entire media along with the political parties on their toes with the hints of his political debut on and off. How much of it is true and when it will happen remains to be seen but in this process, there are three channels that are making a feast of the whole topic.
The leading news channels like TV5, TV9 and NTV are leaving no stone unturned to squeeze the maximum out of this incident and have been conducting meetings, discussions, open talks and debates along with SMS contests just to increase their TRP ratings.
Adding more salt to the spice is the roping in of personalities like I Venkat Rao and Thammareddy Bharadwaj who are considered close associates of Chiru and it is heard that there are different versions coming out from them every time they face the camera in the different news channels. In all this, it is Chiranjeevi who is being used as the scapegoat while the others are making merry out of it.
Resolved Question:
Chiranjeevi deserve to become chief minister? Chiranjeevi deserve to become chief minister?
Answer from Public:(Opinion of Public)
Just because he has fought villains onscreen?? Just because he has stood against corruption as a protagonist of a film?? Just becuase there’s no actor to match his popularity?? If these are reasons why Chiru or for that matter any film star becomes a CM of a state, it has to be said that it would be a reflection of our state of democracy. Sure, enough the film star in question supports blood banks, eye banks, fights for corruption in movies, is loved and adored by his fans… but then being a socially conscious citizen and being a good enough statesmen is like chalk and cheese.
Does Chiru have it in him to be able to balance the caste equations in the state, is he competent enough to lead a state - its economy, welfare not to forget the realpolitik of it all is a matter that cannot be judged by his silver screen performance.
Like everyone he needs to prove himself… not just as a politician with a tinseltown charisma but also as a stateman of integrity, honor and service… so whether or not he becomes a CM the fore mentioned factors would determine how long people would wish him to be the CM (after he gets there that is…)
HYDERABAD: The much-hyped proposal of Chiranjeevi to float a political party became a talking point yet again on Tuesday when a close aide of the matinee idol held discussions with leaders of the Left parties.
Although Chiranjeevi himself has not made his political intentions public, P. Mitra, a gastroenterologist and family friend of the megastar, was in the spotlight after he met CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu on Tuesday and CPI secretary K. Narayana on Monday night.
Dr. Mitra visited M.B. Bhavan, the CPI (M) State headquarters, to enquire about the health of Mr. Raghavulu who was undergoing treatment for cervical problem.
“He is an old friend and we discussed several things, including political situation,†Mr. Raghavulu said about their half-hour long meeting. There was, however, no discussion about the proposed political party by Mr. Chiranjeevi as the latter was yet to firm up his plans, he added.
Mr. Raghavulu said that the CPI (M) would think about an alliance only after the party was launched and its policies announced.
“We are not prepared to waste our time on discussing hypothetical issues. Let him (Chiranjeevi) announce the party,†he said, adding the party favoured entry of more parties with people-centred policies into the political spectrum.
Dr. Mitra informed the CPI leader that the film star was determined to float the party, but had not fixed a date for its launch.
Like his Marxist counterpart, Dr. Narayana too said the CPI would announce its stand on the new party based on its policies.
