Like the music in all Kamal Haasan films, the Dasavatharam audio too has seen a great opening. According to producer Oscar Ravichandran, “The music of the film is a big hit and is selling well in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. And if the music is appreciated, the film will also be a hit.” Ravichandran says the film is ready except for the 30-second tsunami shots, which are being processed in Hong Kong and should reach Chennai by Saturday evening. Once the tsunami shots are incorporated, the release date of Dasavatharam will be announced, probably in the first week of June.

Meanwhile Ravi has big plans for the film’s release. He says, “ Dasavatharam will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and may be Bhojpuri. But Jackie Chan after seeing parts of the film asked me — “Why not in Japanese and Chinese, two of the biggest south East Asian languages?” “This has really made me think and in all probability we may even have a Japanese and Chinese version of the film. I think it would be fantastic,” he says.

The audio release of Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam this evening in Chennai is probably the biggest South Indian Film Indutsry pre-release extravaganza that anyone will ever
witness. Among the many luminaries who will be present, the star is undoubtedly Jackie Chan who arrived last night in the city at around 10 pm, and checked in at the Taj Coramandel. Awaiting him at the Chennai airport were throngs of fans to get a glimpse of this international star. Chan looked visibly impressed and happy at the crowd turn out. This afternoon he will meet the press.

The audio will be released simultaneously in the USA as well. Narmadha media has exclusive rights of the audio in partnership with Sony music. The CD will be available at select stores in Bay Area, Chicago, New Jersey and other major cities in US. The audio release function is highly anticipated not only because this is Kamal’s grand opus but also because of the presence of a Hollywood star such as Jackie Chan gracing the occasion. There was talk recently that the film’s release could once again be delayed, but the latest is that the film will release in May.

Director P Vasu denied that heroine Trisha and Kamal Haasan are playing guest appearances in his current film (Kucheludu) with superstar Rajnikant. In a statement issued, Vasu made it clear that the news that both the stars are appearing in the film are just a figment of imagination of the media.
The film is currently being shot at Ramoji Film City. Rajinikanth appears in the film as the superstar while Jagapathi Babu does the role of a barber. The film is based on a Malayalam blockbuster Katha Parayumbol.

Dasavatharam could easily be credited as the most expected film of the year from Kamal Haasan and K S Ravikumar. As is known to every film buff, this big budgeted film will showcase Kamal in ten different get ups and some of the pictures of him were also in the media lately. The audio release of the film was initially slated to be on the 2nd of April but is now postponed to the 25th of April.

This ostentatious event will be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium wherein Martial arts exponent Jackie Chan will be releasing the first audio cassette.

It is not a surprise that Kamal Hassan will always have something new and unique in his films. But this time he seems to have pulled out a casting coup of sorts, even if they were visually manipulated. In his latest film Dasavatharam Kamal will be playing the role of a scientist who gets honored by the Tamilnadu state government for his achievements in the scientific field. To get the scene to be more authentic Kamal sought the permission of TN chief minister Karunanidhi, so that Kamal can use the chief’s visually recreated image for one of the film’s scenes. To top that Kamal is also rumored to be showing Jayalalitha in the same scene. So if everything turns out well we will get to the political arch rivals share the same screen space.

Versatile Star Kamal Hassan is likely to co-star superstar Rajnikanth in the film Kuselan (Kucheludu in Telugu). The Tamil version is produced by Balachander, guru-like figure to both Rajni and Kamal. This is said to be a key role.

Both are said to have agreed to jointly perform in the film out of huge regard they have for Balachander. Though the two giants costarred in a good number of films during the initial days of their career, later they became poles apart in screen-life. If they come together again after more than two decades, it would sure bring jubilation to fans of both, besides enhancing the entertainment levels to the clouds.

Oscar Ravi Chadnran is making the film Dashavatharam with Kamal, Asin and Mallika Sherawath in the lead role. The film is made with the huge budget of Rs55 crores. The film is scheduled to release in the summer.

Mean while the music of Harish Reshmaiya is releasing on 4th April and Producer is spending Rs4 crores. Arrangements are being made in Nehru Stadium, Chennai. Hollywood Super Star Jackie Chan will be the Chief Guest.
