A decade ago she was every cinegoer’s dream. Simran was an actress who performed any role with elan. And when she danced, she surprised all. At the peak of her career, she gave up everything and settled down giving all her time to her family.
Now that her son is grown up and she has ample time on her hands, Simran returns to the glitz and the glamour… With two films already released, let’s see what the actress has to say about her comeback…
You still look very glamorous! How do you manage it?
Thank you for your appreciation. Glamour or beauty comes from happiness. I am happy with motherhood. And I take life positively. My life is tension free.
You had acted with top heroes like Chiranjeevi, Kamal, NBK, Nag, Venky etc. What made you accept a film opposite a comedian (John Apprao 40 plus).
The script was interesting and so I accepted it. I don’t think too much about star value. For me, story is important. Nothing else matters.
Did you miss the arc lights after your marriage!
No. It was my personal choice not to act in films until my son turns two. I wanted to enjoy a peaceful marital life, hence I stayed away from acting.
How do you manage career and motherhood, as acting in films takes long hours from home?
I have planned it all. I made my comeback after a lot of thought. My son is my everything. And I know how to handle the pressures of my profession and my son’s demands.
Will you continue to play glam roles like you did earlier?
Why not? I am the glam queen, as the media reports (laughs). I don`t mind playing glam roles. And I know where to draw the line.
What are the differences you see in Tollywood compared to the time when you made debut a decade ago?
Young filmmakers are more disciplined and have better understanding of film making. Earlier, films were completely entertainment driven and nothing else. Today, they write scripts that accommodate comedian Krishna Baghavan and me in the lead role. Film making here has become more stylish.
In retrospect, which of your films do you like the most?
It is a tough task. In Telugu, I think Narasinhanaidu, Nuvvu Vastavani and Kalisundam Raa are memorable movies. In Tamil, Vaali and Kannatthil Muthamittal are my personal favourites.
Who do you think is the best among the current heroines?
Trisha, Nayanathara and Shriya are a doing great job.

Simran- she was the heartthrob of South Indian Film audiences before her marriage, but the scene changed after her marriage. She has very disappointing career after her marriage on big screen
But she is changing her strategy and moving on to the small screen (TV) She is making a program TV Serial titled Simran Terai and we are going to see all together New Simran with 25kgs reduced weight.

An hour before the TV launch in Chennai, Simran had gone to attend another function at a school in Chennai, where she turned up looking lovely in a designer saree. As soon as the event finished, she stepped into her car and drove straight to Residency Towers for launching TV.
Photographers, who followed her from one venue to the next, were stunned to see the actress emerge dressed in jeans and a kurta. Simran, who is clearly conscious about her public image, seemed to have changed outfits in the car.

Tabu or simran?

It seems Tabu and Simran are vying with each other to play the lead in ‘Vaaranamaayiram’.
Both actresses have made a name for themselves in commercial and art cinema. Both have dedicated fan-followings. But what sets Tabu apart from Simran? Simran got married, Tabu did not. But still, Tabu took a break from cinema and is now making a comeback (remember Cheeni Kum?).
Tabu made a name for herself in Hindi, dabbled in Telugu and Tamil and even acted in an English film. She recently made a comeback to Telugu with ‘Ide Sangathi’. Simran too made a comeback through Telugu industry. Now it is heard that both actresses are set to return to Tamil filmdom. Apparently, one of them is set to play a very important role in ‘Vaaranamaayiram’, directed by Gautham Menon, with Suriya, Sameera Reddy and Divya Spandana.
So who among the two would play the lead in the film? Gautham, can you let us know the secret?

Sexy Simran was a rage among audiences, particularly youngsters, before her marriage. She tried to come back but new her films have not been received too well by audiences. Even her role opposite Balakrishna in Okka Mogadu did not bring her any new offers. Simran is now planning to turn director. She has also signed up to appear in a TV serial.

Friday, January 18th, 2008Simran took a re entry into Tollywood with a big hope that she would have previous glory, but to her surprise the role played by her in the movie ‘Okka Magadu’ brought down all her expectations and her reentry image is also brought down due to bad make up in the movie and improper costumes. Though the movie is flop, keeping this aside, she is having big range of hopes on John Appa Rao 40+ which would change her career graph. It would not be a surprise that shortly she may come up as mother or aunt to young hero or heroine, she is already mother of a kid, this is giving impact on her professional career as expectations of audiences are changing. Only time should speak on this.
Okka Magadu Censor on 5th January

Okka Magadu – a prestigious project in the combination of Nanadamuri Balakrishna and YVS Choudary is all set to hit the screens on 11th January, the date on which Balakrishna’s blockbuster Narasimha Naidu was released a couple of years back.
Meanwhile, the post production work is completed and producer, director YVS is planning to go for censor certification on 5th January.
As for a source from film nagar- the film begins with pre-independence era and would run up to the current political scenario.
Manisharma’s music and Chandra Bose lyrics are getting good reports from the audio market. Simran , Anushka, and Nisha Kotari are playing female leads opposite Balakrishna.
Charmy with Narayanamurthy?

Kuchipui Venkat is now busy with John Appa Rao 40+. Krishna Bhagawan is playing the title role and Simran is the leading lady. Venkat now wants to make a film with the sexy Charmy and red star R Narayanamurthy. Narayanamurthy is known for making films that further the cause close to his heart. He has the tag of making red films – an obvious reference to his commitment to the cause of the communists. Charmy is now on a high with the success of her latest film ‘Manthra. A film in the combination of Charmy and Narayanamurthy will surely make waves. Kucipudi Venkat is expected to make an official announcement about his next project after his present film is released.
