This Pongal, Trisha along with Vikram will attempt to recreate the Saamy magic with Bheemaa, a film which sees Harris Jayaraj composing the music for a Vikram film for the fifth time.
“I am basically the entertainment in the film. Bheemaa is a very realistic and serious film. So, when this girl comes into every frame, it brings a lot of joy, happiness and comedy. That is the break the film will need,” said Trisha.
Across the border, Trisha has a Sankranti release as well Krishna with Ravi Teja.
Trisha says she is slowly coming out of the phase where every Tamil and Telugu filmmaker wanted her to play a village belle after the success of films like Nuvvostavante and Varsham.
“In Tamil, after Saamy, because it became such a big hit, people wanted to see me like that for a while. It was the same in Telugu with Varsham because it was also the role of a village belle. So filmmakers thought it will work. That is also important, because people like that homely image and you relate the B & C centres immediately,” said Trisha.
Year 2007 saw Trisha give a superhit with Venkatesh in Aadavari Matalaku Ardhale Veruley and her Kireedam in Tamil with Ajith won critical acclaim.
With films like Bheemaa and Kuruvi lined up for release in the first half of 2008 this former Miss Chennai, is surely a star you cannot miss in the New year.
